Unmatched Real Estate Photography in Fredericksburg, TX
We've all heard the phrase "A picture is worth a thousand words," and in today's digitally-dominant world, that saying is more poignant than ever. In real estate, pictures have a huge impact on whether a home is sold or passed by. That's especially true in a time when prospective homebuyers are less likely to travel in-person to tour a home in their price range.
With more time on their hands to peruse real estate listings, buyers are inundated with all sorts of images, which is why your real estate photos must stand out from the crowd. Once buyers filter through property locations, pricing, nearby school districts, and square footage, they want to flip through photos. If your pictures aren't up to snuff, you can be sure the homebuyer will move to the next listing.
Fortunately, Twist Tours is here to provide you with high-resolution, creative photography for your real estate needs - whether you're listing a brand-new home or selling a property that has been on the market too long.
We believe Twist Tours stands apart because we do more than capturing a visual record of a home. Instead, your Twist Tours real estate photographer develops an emotional bridge between potential buyers and real estate listings by enhancing the home's true character. Every aspect of our real estate photos, drone shots, videos, and tours are carefully engineered to bring your property to life
With a staff of highly-trained, innovative real estate photographers, there's no project too large or "out of the box" for us to handle. And we're not just talking real estate photography in the classic sense - we have successful clients in many different industries, who use our photographers for:
Interior Design
Lighting Design
Office Building
Medical Office
Landscape Design
Event Venue
Apartment Rental
Commercial Property
Restaurant
Vacation Rental
Spa & Retreat

Aerial Video and Photography Services for Real Estate
Nothing showcases your property quite like professional aerial video and photography. With our drone photography services, you can turn lookers into buyers by giving them a unique vantage point of your commercial or residential property. If you're looking to set your real estate business apart from your competition, drone photography and video is the way to go.
Aerial photography adds an extra layer of "special" to your real estate photos, taking your listing from dull to downright beautiful. Sellers want to work with agents willing to entertain creative ways to sell homes. Buyers want to see every nook and cranny of the home they're interested in buying. With aerial real estate photography, you get the best of both worlds.
Benefits of aerial real estate photography and video include:
Property Location
If you're a real estate expert, we bet you're used to hearing the saying "location, location, location." One of the greatest benefits of aerial real estate photography is the chance to see where a home is located with respect to parks, restaurants, and other attractions. If you need to capture the entirety of a property's layout, take to the skies.
Property Accuracy
Taking pictures is one of the most important steps in selling a home. Generally, exterior real estate photos are taken from common locations like driveways, back yards, and on decks. Aerial real estate photography and videography can show a more accurate, robust depiction of a home for sale, giving buyers a more complete picture of the home they're looking to buy.
Tell a Better Story
Excellent storytelling is one of the most reliable keys to real estate sales. On the one hand, buyers want to know exactly where their money will be going when buying a home. On the other hand, sellers want to work with an agent who has more than the typical tools of the trade on hand. When coupled with interactive virtual tours, hiring a Twist real estate videographer in Fredericksburg, TX can help realtors tell a more captivating story.
Commercial Real Estate Photography Services
Ever considered professional real estate photography for your commercial business needs? Making a first strong impression is an incredible asset to your business. Doing so is equally as important for commercial purposes as it is for residential real estate reasons. With Twist Tours, your prospective clients can access online 3D virtual tours filled with stunning HDR real estate photography to give them a full picture of what you're selling. With our floor plan and room planner tours, you can even implement our real estate photos in your print marketing materials.
But that's just the start. A few additional benefits of commercial real estate photography include:
1.
Give Buyers What They Want:
The Wall Street Journal recently published a piece about the best ways to sell a commercial property. Their research found that buyers spent 60% of their time looking at photos on a property page. Knowing this, you must find creative ways to make your listings and marketing materials stand out. A lack of dazzling, positive imagery could mean you lose out on a sale or a tenant.
2.
More Clicks and Shares:
When prospective buyers or tenants are captivated by a real estate photo, they are very likely to click through to your website. Pictures with the right mix of professionalism and pizzaz are also share-worthy, meaning your commercial property for sale will reach a wider audience.
3.
Get That Great First Impression:
For buyers or tenants to take your commercial property seriously, your real estate images must make a positive impression by being HDR, modern, and beautiful.
Do the Twist
Guess what? At Twist Tours, we love our clients. Not just because of the fantastic relationships we've formed with builders, brokers, owners, designers, agents, and their staff - but because they get it. They know how important a strong first impression can be in the real estate industry. The only thing we love more than meeting new clients is helping them grow their business. If you're ready to get started on more success, we're here to help.

This Fredericksburg Artist Is Wowing L.A. With Her Hill Country–Inspired Paintings

Nothing will send someone to Zillow searching for Hill Country properties faster than a visit to the painter Kate Zimmerman Turpin’s home. Her light green house, with its vast yard, sits on a quiet and very –coded street in Fredericksburg. Inside, her husband, Luke, is currently occupying their two children; out back, an exterior white wall by the stairs is a murderous tableau of tiny muddy handprints. One of the family’s two dogs, a bloodhound named Dandy, stretches out in the backyard, her belly folded like bellows and her jowls pooling beneath her head. Across the backyard is a renovated square outbuilding—Zimmerman Turpin’s studio—with big casement windows that look out over a gray-and-brown winter scene. Periodically, the artist’s donkey, Romeo, a Christmas gift from Luke, pokes his head through one of the windows to greet her.
Some 100,000 people are familiar with Zimmerman Turpin’s aesthetic from Instagram. Before she was a painter, she was a photographer who built a large following sharing scenes from her travels, and then from motherhood. But now she mostly features her paintings, which are perpetually sold out, immediately pounced upon by collectors who lust after them for their color and scale.
Zimmerman Turpin herself looks like a Dôen ad. She wears worn brown cowboy boots she bought at a local estate sale and blue denim overalls over a billowy white blouse with a delicate print. She has a tidy, shiny brunette bob and big brown eyes. Though she is roundly pregnant, she moves easily around her studio, unlatching the windows and letting in the breeze—it’s an unseasonably warm morning in February. Two large tables dominate the middle of the room. One, which she found at another Fredericksburg estate sale, is made of planks of a medieval heft, painted a dark green. The other is a dining table that once belonged to the artist’s great-uncle. The tables are covered with pastels and cairns of books—books about Botticelli and other artists, as well as compendiums of flowers. Zimmerman Turpin’s works surround the room. They are massive, taller than their petite creator. The next day, they will be transported to a gallery in Los Angeles for her first solo show, “The Light the Ground Gives.”
“It’s my first ever show,” she corrects. Zimmerman Turpin only began painting during the pandemic. Before lockdown, she’d been working full-time as a photographer, but COVID-19 and the arrival of her first child, a daughter, stalled her work. “Our whole world kind of changed, and I was just craving working with my hands,” she says. Some chose to keep themselves busy with board games and sourdough; Zimmerman Turpin became a rabidly sought-after pastel artist. She had always enjoyed experimenting with different media, and pastels suited her new phase of life. “It’s the most freeing material for me to use, and I can come in here for one hour or four hours,” she says. “It’s not daunting to pick up a pastel.”
Most of her pieces are flowerscapes, impressionistic renderings of dreamy gardens. She works with unprimed canvases and pushes the paint deeply into the raw surfaces, so the paintings have a density—sometimes a muddiness—that recalls frescoes on crumbling walls. Zimmerman Turpin loves tapestries and old buildings’ patinas; she wanted her depictions to look as if they were part of the canvas, rather than painted on top. The paintings would feel appropriate in a well-preserved French manor, and in fact, they make one wonder what Monet would have made of the Hill Country.
The occasional splashes of vivid color in Zimmerman Turpin’s paintings are nowhere to be seen outside her windows on this winter day. She points me to a fragile-looking wooden chair at a small desk in the corner of the room and pulls over another, positioning it in such a way that she is beautifully lit from two sides. A cat, Darlin, leaps onto one of the windowsills and begins stalking around the room.
“I love animals, but honestly, she’s not my favorite,” the artist says. “I don’t trust her.” Darlin has deposited live and dead birds in the studio—once placing one on a painting—as well as a snake and, several weeks earlier, a large lizard. The cat amputated its quarry’s tail before abandoning it. The lizard clung to one of the paintings for several weeks, and now Zimmerman Turpin believes it is cowering in another corner of the room, behind a trash can and an exceptionally virile pencil cactus.
Zimmerman Turpin grew up in Houston, and before she and her husband moved to Fredericksburg, the couple lived in Austin. But she says she couldn’t have built the career she has there. When they bought their house in Fredericksburg, the town was still relatively affordable, and the lower cost of living meant that she felt less pressure to take photography gigs. There was also the exquisite silence of her studio—and having the space for a studio at all. “Coming from Austin, where there was so much excitement, my stimulated mind really loved that,” she says. “When I came out here, at first, I was like, ‘Is this allowed? I can live like this?’It was so beautiful and so green—we had so much rain that year. And then after a few months it kind of hit me, and I was like, ‘Oh no, I can really hear my thoughts. I’m not sure I like this.’ There was a detox, almost.”
Her paintings are refreshingly angst-free, the chaos of her imagined gardens well contained. The cornerstone of her solo show is a nearly 21-foot piece in seven panels called . The work is her most fresco-like. “For this one,” she says, standing before it on its last day in the Hill Country, “I wanted it to almost feel like you’re going on a walk. I wanted you to have to literally walk by everything, as if you’re on a real walk, noticing things in nature—little treasures.” A cluster of delicate blue flowers resembling forget-me-nots draws the eye, followed by a clutch of lilac-like flowers. Mostly, Zimmerman Turpin says, she paints remembered scenes, and sometimes she deliberately changes plants to make them less botanically accurate. “I’ll often do a flower with a different stem, because I don’t want anyone to say ‘That’s a Danaë rose!’ I’d rather them just have an emotional response to it than try to name something.”
She has heard people say that the paintings are calming, or that they feel a sense of recognition or home when looking at them. Studying them in Zimmerman Turpin’s studio, I mainly feel a yearning for spring—she says the meadow next to her house will soon be full of bluebonnets—and perhaps for an airy workspace of my own, full of spindly wooden furniture and occasional fauna.
But a couple weeks later, I stop by her show, at Megan Mulrooney gallery, while on a visit to Los Angeles. Outside the building, the clamor of Santa Monica Boulevard at rush hour is overwhelming. But inside, the vast space is quiet, and Zimmerman Turpin’s paintings have room to breathe. The pieces appear muted without their Hill Country backdrop. Garden Continuum, which filled her studio, looks small on the gallery walls. But start from the far-left panel and walk to the right, and you may forget that when you leave the gallery, you’ll spend thirty minutes in traffic heading to your next destination, where you’ll pay $20 for some fries.
Particularly in the corner where two of the panels meet, where you’re surrounded by green and a smattering of non-Danaë roses, you may feel a brief flash of the calm of a studio in the country.

Developers have officially broken ground on the retail construction phase of a 70,000-square-foot luxury retail project set to bring new food, fashion and cultural offerings to the Unofficial Capital of the Texas Hill Country.
The Meuse, a 22-acre retail district currently under construction in Fredericksburg, Texas, is set to open in late 2027. The project is expected to upgrade lifestyle amenities in the buzzy tourist town once it opens, but only so many details are known about what brand experiences future shoppers will see — until now.
In addition to two ritzy stores announced last year — Lucchese Bootmaker and Padre’s Wine Company — developers are now sharing three new "carefully curated, Texas-based and locally rooted" tenants when the highly anticipated retail district opens. Retail construction broke ground in January 2026 and is expected to be complete by late 2027.
In a March 4 news release, developers said the new lineup of tenants "reinforces" the project’s commitment to "assembling a retail mix that reflects the heritage, craftsmanship, and independent spirit that define Fredericksburg and the greater Hill Country." It's a commitment meant to carry weight with locals, who for years have shared concerns that the community is in danger of losing its small town charm to new developments.
The project's future tenants include Double D Ranch, a luxury Western fashion house; Fischer & Wieser Specialty Foods, which locals might recognize because it is owned by the same owners of the popular Das Peach Haus on U.S. 87 in Fredericksburg; and the Jackson Ballard Gallery, which will showcase a curated collection of American folk art and vintage Southwest works inside of a historic Sunday House located on the property.
Fischer & Wieser is a family-owned and operated brand that's been based in Fredericksburg since 1969. It is known for its premium jams, jellies, sauces, salsas, mustards, and other specialty food products that it distributes nationally. The brand, which traces its roots back to a peach orchard planted in 1928, will occupy an existing home on the site, according to the news release.
The Double D Ranch fashion brand will open a 2,479-square-foot retail location on the site, and gallerist Jackson Ballard, who is now a Fredericksburg resident, will sell artwork and deal in rare antiques accessible to both novices and serious collectors.
Located near the intersection of U.S. 290 and Main Street, the luxury development will be anchored by a hotel — just one of many new overnight digs under construction in the growing Hill Country hotspot.

Frequently recognized as one of the best and friendliest small towns in the United States, Fredericksburg is hardly a secret. Living in Austin, I’ve been making the trip for years for wine tastings, shopping, and a weekend reset that doesn’t require an airport. What continues to surprise me is how each visit feels different. Sometimes it’s as simple as striking up a conversation with a local who points me toward my favorite bakery of the trip, and another might introduce me to a new grape varietal. Those small, unplanned moments are part of what makes the "unofficial capital of the Texas Hill Country" special.
Founded in the 1840s by German settlers, Fredericksburg proudly leans into its German roots while offering a diverse food, wine and shopping scene. For a town of roughly 12,000 residents, it draws over a million visitors each year — a statistic that starts to make sense once you factor in the award-winning wineries, walkable historic district, and stunning Hill Country views.
How to get to Fredericksburg, Texas
Just over an hour northwest of San Antonio, Fredericksburg is close enough for an easy day trip yet offers plenty to make a weekend trip worthwhile. Depending on the time of year, the drive itself highlights the state’s beloved wildflowers in March and April, or roadside peach stands in late spring and early summer, where travelers can pull over and stock up. From San Antonio, you can take Interstate 10 to Highway U.S. 87, which leads directly to Fredericksburg's Main Street.
What to do in Fredericksburg, Texas
There’s truly something for everyone in Fredericksburg. History lovers can start at the National Museum of the Pacific War or the Pioneer Museum, both of which offer insight into the town’s past and occasionally host living history demonstrations throughout the year. On the first Saturday of each month, join a guided historic walking tour through downtown Fredericksburg.
Shopping is best done on foot. Wander up and down Main Street for boutiques, art galleries and souvenirs, but be sure to duck onto side streets for local favorites like San Saba Soap Company, known for its Texas pecan-based soaps and fragrances. I like to spend hours browsing antique and home goods stores like Black Chalk Home and Laundry and Carol Hicks Bolton Antiquities, which specialize in globally sourced pieces.
Don’t miss the tiny and beautifully curated Marigold, set inside Hill Country Herb Garden. Marigold offers apothecary, clothing, jewelry and more, including pieces from Texas-based designers.
Once a roadside peach stand, head to Das Peach Haus to join a cooking class, sample wines or browse the market stocked with jams, sauces and other take-home favorites. For outdoor enthusiasts, Enchanted Rock sits about 20 minutes from downtown and offers unrivaled Hill Country views from the summit of the second-largest granite dome in the country. In spring, check out Wildseed Farms to wander the largest working wildflower farm in the U.S.
There’s no better way to end the day than two-stepping and listening to live music at local institutions like Hondo’s on Main and Crossroads Saloon & Steakhouse.
Where to eat and drink
Good eats are plentiful in Fredericksburg. Start your day at Sunday Supply for breakfast tacos and coffee, or at The Pharmacy for croissants and pastries. Lunch at Vaudeville is always a good idea, especially if you need to fuel up before wine tasting. Order one of the daily specials or tackle a mile-high sandwich. My go-to is the Reuben on marble rye. If you’re craving something lighter, Hill Country Herb Garden offers a refreshing change of pace, with fresh juices, herbal teas and salads served in a peaceful setting just outside downtown.
Wine is deeply woven into the Fredericksburg experience, with tasting rooms and vineyards stretching along 290 Wine Road, a well-marked corridor that makes winery-hopping easy to customize. For visually striking stops, begin at Becker Vineyards, known for its lavender fields, Slate Theory Winery and its massive underground cellar or Heath Sparkling Wines, whose modern estate feels worlds away from Texas.
For standout wines in a cozy setting, head to Pontotoc Vineyard Weingarten to sample its house-made Tempranillo sangria alongside a picnic basket — featuring some of the best pimento cheese I’ve ever had. Prochnow Vineyard is a family-friendly estate where guests can sip under the oak trees or hop aboard the owner-led “vine train” for a tour of the property and a deeper look at its history and winemaking.
With several excellent dinner options in town, don’t miss the duck schnitzel at Otto’s German Bistro, or split a few pies at Prometheus Pizza — their rotating specials are also worth trying. And because no trip to Texas is complete without barbecue, round things out at Junebug’s Barbecue, Eaker Barbecue, or Leroy’s Tex Mex BBQ.
