Unmatched Real Estate Photography in Bastrop, TX
We've all heard the phrase "A picture is worth a thousand words," and in today's digitally-dominant world, that saying is more poignant than ever. In real estate, pictures have a huge impact on whether a home is sold or passed by. That's especially true in a time when prospective homebuyers are less likely to travel in-person to tour a home in their price range.
With more time on their hands to peruse real estate listings, buyers are inundated with all sorts of images, which is why your real estate photos must stand out from the crowd. Once buyers filter through property locations, pricing, nearby school districts, and square footage, they want to flip through photos. If your pictures aren't up to snuff, you can be sure the homebuyer will move to the next listing.
Fortunately, Twist Tours is here to provide you with high-resolution, creative photography for your real estate needs - whether you're listing a brand-new home or selling a property that has been on the market too long.
We believe Twist Tours stands apart because we do more than capturing a visual record of a home. Instead, your Twist Tours real estate photographer develops an emotional bridge between potential buyers and real estate listings by enhancing the home's true character. Every aspect of our real estate photos, drone shots, videos, and tours are carefully engineered to bring your property to life
With a staff of highly-trained, innovative real estate photographers, there's no project too large or "out of the box" for us to handle. And we're not just talking real estate photography in the classic sense - we have successful clients in many different industries, who use our photographers for:
Interior Design
Lighting Design
Office Building
Medical Office
Landscape Design
Event Venue
Apartment Rental
Commercial Property
Restaurant
Vacation Rental

Aerial Video and Photography Services for Real Estate
Nothing showcases your property quite like professional aerial video and photography. With our drone photography services, you can turn lookers into buyers by giving them a unique vantage point of your commercial or residential property. If you're looking to set your real estate business apart from your competition, drone photography and video is the way to go.
Aerial photography adds an extra layer of "special" to your real estate photos, taking your listing from dull to downright beautiful. Sellers want to work with agents willing to entertain creative ways to sell homes. Buyers want to see every nook and cranny of the home they're interested in buying. With aerial real estate photography, you get the best of both worlds.
Benefits of aerial real estate photography and video include:
Property Location
If you're a real estate expert, we bet you're used to hearing the saying "location, location, location." One of the greatest benefits of aerial real estate photography is the chance to see where a home is located with respect to parks, restaurants, and other attractions. If you need to capture the entirety of a property's layout, take to the skies.
Property Accuracy
Taking pictures is one of the most important steps in selling a home. Generally, exterior real estate photos are taken from common locations like driveways, back yards, and on decks. Aerial real estate photography and videography can show a more accurate, robust depiction of a home for sale, giving buyers a more complete picture of the home they're looking to buy.
Tell a Better Story
Excellent storytelling is one of the most reliable keys to real estate sales. On the one hand, buyers want to know exactly where their money will be going when buying a home. On the other hand, sellers want to work with an agent who has more than the typical tools of the trade on hand. When coupled with interactive virtual tours, hiring a Twist real estate videographer in Bastrop, TX can help realtors tell a more captivating story.
Commercial Real Estate Photography Services
Ever considered professional real estate photography for your commercial business needs? Making a first strong impression is an incredible asset to your business. Doing so is equally as important for commercial purposes as it is for residential real estate reasons. With Twist Tours, your prospective clients can access online 3D virtual tours filled with stunning HDR real estate photography to give them a full picture of what you're selling. With our floor plan and room planner tours, you can even implement our real estate photos in your print marketing materials.
But that's just the start. A few additional benefits of commercial real estate photography include:
1.
Give Buyers What They Want:
The Wall Street Journal recently published a piece about the best ways to sell a commercial property. Their research found that buyers spent 60% of their time looking at photos on a property page. Knowing this, you must find creative ways to make your listings and marketing materials stand out. A lack of dazzling, positive imagery could mean you lose out on a sale or a tenant.
2.
More Clicks and Shares:
When prospective buyers or tenants are captivated by a real estate photo, they are very likely to click through to your website. Pictures with the right mix of professionalism and pizzaz are also share-worthy, meaning your commercial property for sale will reach a wider audience.
3.
Get That Great First Impression:
For buyers or tenants to take your commercial property seriously, your real estate images must make a positive impression by being HDR, modern, and beautiful.
Do the Twist
Guess what? At Twist Tours, we love our clients. Not just because of the fantastic relationships we've formed with builders, brokers, owners, designers, agents, and their staff - but because they get it. They know how important a strong first impression can be in the real estate industry. The only thing we love more than meeting new clients is helping them grow their business. If you're ready to get started on more success, we're here to help.

Two $10K tips left by same customer at Texas family-owned restaurant

At El Nuevo Mexico, they strive to treat co-workers and customers like family.
After all, being run by six siblings, family is the restaurant's backbone.
"It's all walks of life that come into your restaurant, and you don't know if they're having a bad day or a good day," said Elvia Jaimes, who owns the restaurant alongside her six siblings. "That’s one thing that we take pride in is just welcoming everybody."
Denise Ruiz experienced that welcoming nature when she stopped by for a bite to eat and left with a job. She was freshly out of work and had no prior experience in serving. One of the owners offered to hire her on the spot.
"He told me, 'I will train you,'" she said. "'I will teach you everything you need to know.'"
Eight years later, co-workers have become her family, and so have regular customers, including a man named Robert.
Best of Austin: Restaurant Finalists!
The Austin Chronicle's annual Best of Austin reader's poll has singled out finalists for the best restaurants in the city! To see the finalists and vote for your favorite, head to the Austin Chronicle.
Robert came by the Bastrop restaurant one day in June and did something unexpected, covering the tab for everyone in the restaurant and then leaving a $10,000 tip.
After thinking it over, the owners decided to post about it on social media months later.
"Now that the year has ended, we just felt very grateful," said Jaimes. "We thought, let's share it, an act of kindness, just to show that there are still good people out there."
Robert came back the following day in June, too. Ruiz was working her shift at the time.
"I was like, ‘Where's your mom?’ and he was like, ‘Denise she passed away,’" said Ruiz. "And I started crying because I would serve them (both) breakfast on Sunday morning after church."
Through their routine and subsequent bond, Robert had also learned that Ruiz's son was going through cancer treatment.
He left a second $10,000 tip on his bill that day. He told Ruiz to take a trip with her son, David, when he fully recovered.
"It made me cry because you see that no longer [is it] just a restaurant or customers - they’re family," she said.
Ruiz hopes that someday she and her son can go on that trip. But the $10,000, she couldn’t help but share with her co-workers, more family that had supported her in their own way throughout her son’s cancer treatment and other hardships.
In sharing, Ruiz hopes others will be inspired to their own acts of kindness, whether large or small.
"You realize that there is a God when you see actions like that, that are not selfish with no motive and that’s beautiful in this world that’s so chaotic right now," she said.

Bastrop City Council filed an ethics complaint against Mayor Lyle Nelson on Jan. 18 for his alleged interference in the investigation of Visit Bastrop’s financial mismanagement.
A financial audit by Haynie & Company found about $70,000 of public funds approved by Susan Smith, Visit Bastrop’s former CEO, lacked proper documentation between 2021-23. According to the audit, food and entertainment expenses were referenced related to the improper use of funds.
The context
In August, all four Visit Bastrop employees submitted statements addressing misconduct by Smith, including excessive spending and inappropriate use of public funds.
Visit Bastrop is primarily funded by hotel occupancy tax public funds. An investigation into financial mismanagement allegations against Visit Bastrop was approved Aug. 10.
In August, the city hired Haynie & Company to perform a financial audit of Visit Bastrop. City Council received the results of the investigation Dec. 18 and moved to file an ethics complaint against Nelson.
The complaint against Nelson alleges that he refused to provide requested material, including text messages, for the investigation into Smith's conduct. The complaint also alleges that Nelson knew Smith misused public funds.
Nelson began his term as a city official March 28, 2022, when he became a member of the Bastrop Economic Development Board. According to the investigation, Nelson began a romantic relationship with Smith in August 2022. He later took office as mayor in June 2023.
In an email to Community Impact, Nelson said all his official correspondence, including texts and emails, were provided through the city phone and computer. Nelson said he also engaged in email correspondence and a Dec. 12 interview with the investigating attorney.
“In my opinion, there was no ethics violation by me. When the Ethics Commission is provided with the facts, this will be confirmed,” Nelson said in an email to Community Impact. “The fact that council is spending time, effort and taxpayer money on this rather than giving their full attention to delayed projects such as our Water Plant, our Wastewater Plant and other needed public projects is baffling.”
The background
Nelson told Community Impact he was not aware of the misuse of funds by Smith and never used his position to influence the Visit Bastrop budget.
“While I had conversations as did others, I never advocated for or against Visit Bastrop with anyone, nor did I vote as the mayor has no vote,” Nelson said in the email.
The complaint alleges a conflict of interest during Nelson’s time on the Bastrop Economic Development Board and while in office as mayor.
The city of Bastrop hired attorney Sarah Glaser of Lloyd Gosselink to conduct a fact-finding report.
“There was a friendly relationship that she and I had, and there perhaps was romance involved in it,” Nelson said in an interview with Glaser on Dec. 22. “I will say there was some romance in there, but to allude to the fact that that romantic relationship was a sexual relationship, I think, is reaching—overreaching.”
In the interview with Glaser, Nelson said his relationship with Smith had concluded by Aug. 10, 2023.
The issue will be addressed at the next ethics committee meeting date still undetermined.

'He's a blessing': Bastrop restaurant regular leaves $20K in tips for server and co-workers

As most look ahead into the new year, one Texas restaurant is reflecting on its biggest highlight of 2023.
In June, a customer at El Nuevo Mexico in Bastrop left back-to-back $10,000 tips on relatively inexpensive bills, according to a recent Facebook post from the restaurant. He also paid for the restaurant's other customers on one visit.
The customer is a man named Robert, whom assistant manager Denise Ruiz described as a "regular family patron," because the restaurant tries to make everyone feel like family.
"A mere example on how impactful a server’s role can be beyond the table. Where customers can feel like family," the restaurant wrote in its Facebook post.
Ruiz said Robert and his mother would always come into the restaurant to eat together, but on June 1 he came in alone. He told his server he wanted to pay for the whole restaurant, which cost about $270. When the bill came, he tipped $10,000.
The next day, he came alone again, and Ruiz served him. Ruiz asked Robert where his mother was, and he said she had passed away.
"He got emotional, and I sat with him and told him, 'God has reasons for everything that happens, and we don't understand when he has his time for joy and for tragedy,'" Ruiz said.
The pair sat and ate together for a while, Ruiz said, before Robert asked her to cash out his bill. She went to the computer and found another tip totaling more than $10,100. Ruiz returned to Robert and said there had been a mistake, but he told her he meant to tip that much to help her son.
Ruiz's adult son, David, was diagnosed with cancer in 2022. He has been cancer-free for about a year.
"Robert told me to take David on a trip to make memories," Ruiz said. "God places angels in your life at different times to show you how good people can be."
Ruiz took some of the money and split it among her co-workers because she recognized the needs of other people and wanted to reward them with the blessing she received, she said. With the rest, she's planning a trip with her son.
"People focus on the amount of the tip, but it wasn't the amount that mattered," she said. "It was the love this man gave to other people. He's a blessing overall because of his kindness and generosity."

AUSTIN, Texas — As the Smokehouse Creek Fire continues to burn in the Texas Panhandle, some Central Texans may be wondering how it compares to the infamous Bastrop Complex Fire in 2011, which occurred during a period when most of Texas was in the "exceptional" drought category.
As many know by now, the Smokehouse Creek Fire has burned over 1 million acres, making it the largest wildfire in Texas history. It is so large that another wildfire in the Panhandle has burned into it.

Many Central Texans recall the Bastrop County Complex Fire back in September 2011. The 32,000-acre inferno was the most destructive wildfire in state history, with more than 1,600 homes destroyed, $350 million in property damage – also making it the costliest fire in state history – and two deaths.
Police and fire crews block a road during the 2011 Bastrop Complex Fire.
However, a key difference between the Bastrop Complex Fire and the currently burning Smokehouse Creek Fire is that there are fewer buildings in the path of the Smokehouse Creek Fire, largely due to a lack of population density northeast of Amarillo, Texas.
Additionally, the fire weather risk for Thursday is mainly high in the Texas Panhandle but is slightly lower here in the Austin metro area. However, it's still important to be careful when outdoor burning.

Stick with KVUE as we continue to track the ongoing situation in the Texas Panhandle.
While we may be dry ourselves for Friday and the weekend, we're expecting a chance for storms that could limit the fire risk locally to start next week.
