Michelle Nolan
Michelle was born and raised outside Houston, Texas. Her family has been in Austin and the surrounding area for nearly 200 years and she knew when she graduated from Southwest Texas State University in 1999 that this is where she wanted to be! After many years in the Food and Beverage Industry, she settled down with her husband Jay in South Austin. In an effort to spend more time with their children, Caroline and Denver, she wanted to follow her dreams of becoming a full time photographer. Purchasing her own dream home led her to meet Allison with Twisttours and the rest is history.
She’s been with Twist Tours since 2012 and loves every minute of it! On weekends she finds joy photographing families and children. Most of her free time is spent picking up toys, wrangling her 2 big dogs, snuggling her cat and enjoying all this wonderful town has to offer with her family. How long have you been in the Austin area?
⤜ I’ve lived here for 20 years, but my family goes back here several generations, so I’ve been here my whole life, really.
Who inspires you (in general / as an artist / your interpretation)?
⤜ In general, anyone who gets off their butt to go out and make the world a better place.

⤜ Dinner
What was the best concert you’ve ever been to?
⤜ I’ve been to many, many concerts, but Damien Rice always puts on an AMAZING show.
When you were a kiddo, what did you really want to be when you grew up?
⤜ A sports reporter for the Houston Rockets.
Your favorite Austin Eatery // Coffee House // Brewery?
⤜ Probably Uchi if we can get a sitter.
Do you have a favorite charity you wish more people knew about?
⤜ Austin Allies is a wonderful charity here in Austin.
What’s your favorite thing about being a photographer?
⤜ Flexibility to spend time with my family. And that I can wear whatever I want 🙂
Have you ever met anybody famous?
⤜ I’ve met several celebrities, but I would NEVER ask for a photo. That’s not me. I shook Willie Nelson’s hand once and that was pretty epic.
What is your go-to Potluck dish?
⤜ Macaroni and Cheese. I can make it Basic or Bougie. They’re all amazing.
How many states // countries have you visited (or lived in!)?
⤜ I’ve lived in Texas my whole life. I’ve been to 17 states and 4 countries.
What’s something that has surprised you about being a real estate photographer?
⤜ People have wildly different opinions on what constitutes ‘photo ready’.
What is one of the top items on your Bucket List?
⤜ Travel to more exotic locations. Morocco, maybe. Istanbul.
What’s something—big or small—that you’re really bad at?
⤜ Organization. I was great at it before I had kids.
What’s one hobby you’d love to get into?
⤜ AstroPhotography
