Mandy Droutsas
Mandy moved to Texas in 2020 for a new beginning with her daughters and lives in the hill country! A former military brat, she is thrilled to finally be settling down in her home state. When she’s not cooking or crocheting, you might find her listening to new music, reading fiction, or trying to learn a new song on her ukulele. Her photography background consists of assisting portrait photographers on shoots, and she has also worked as an office assistant in a real estate agency!

Who inspires you (in general / as an artist / your interpretation?
⤜ Resilient women in history and modern times such as Audrey Hepburn, Maya Angelou, Frida Kahlo, and the ones I know in person!

What was the best concert you’ve ever been to?
⤜ The Black Keys at the Anthem in D.C., 2019.
When you were a kiddo, what did you really want to be when you grew up?
⤜ A children’s fiction author/illustrator.

⤜ Uchiko.
Do you have a favorite charity you wish more people knew about?
⤜ I wish I knew more about charities.
What’s your hidden talent?
⤜ Singing, drawing, and finding lost things for other people.
Have you ever met anybody famous?
⤜ When I was about 11, I met Madeleine L’Engle. She signed my copy of A Wrinkle In Time.
What is your go-to Potluck dish?
⤜ Jalapeño poppers.
How many states // countries have you visited (or lived in!)?
⤜ I have lived in: CA, NY, VA, OH, TX, MD, CO, and as a teen I lived in England and visited France, Germany, and Belgium.
What is one of the top items on your Bucket List?
⤜ Start a business.
What’s something – big or small – that you’re really bad at?
⤜ I’m TERRIBLE at dancing but I love it, can’t get enough of it.
What’s one hobby you’d love to get into?
⤜ I think I’d like getting into playing board games!
