Erika Edwards was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and is a graduate of the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography. She’s been shooting architecture and real estate since college. Erika moved to Austin as quickly as she could and is continuing her photography career locally, statewide, and nationally. Words of Praise

These clients moved everything up a week (hence the rush) and the house wasn’t quite where I expected. I got there early just in case, and glad I did! Erika helped me move trash, re-shot the living room after rearranging and so many “little things” that typically go unnoticed were HUGE to me!!!!

Thank you!  Erika did an excellent job yesterday in spite of my clients chaotic atmosphere!  LOL 🙂 She is awesome!

I have to tell you, today was my first shoot with Erika Edwards and she rocked it!!!

Erika did an outstanding job on the Romeria photos yesterday!

Get To Know Me

How long have you been in the Austin area?
⤜ 3 years.

Who inspires you (in general / as an artist / your interpretation)?
⤜ Instead of going into a very long list, I can say generally that I’m inspired by women who are able to turn their art or what they love into a successful life path. By women who get to wake up and do what they love for their job every day. We all have that thing that we wish we could do for a living, and the regular people who make this happen for themselves are extraordinary.

Breakfast Lunch or Dinner?
⤜ Lunch all the way. You can have breakfast or dinner foods for lunch. And sandwiches may be the greatest and most versatile food of all time.

What was the best concert you’ve ever been to?
⤜ I’ve been to so many great concerts, it’s hard to pick just one! A memorable concert would definitely be seeing blues musician Keb Mo’ at an outdoor amphitheater in the mountains of Taos, New Mexico.

When you were a kiddo, what did you really want to be when you grew up?
⤜ I’m pretty sure this changed on a daily basis! My interests growing up were all over the place, between the arts, sports, math and science, so I never settled on a choice for any long period of time.

Your favorite Austin Eatery // Coffee House // Brewery?
⤜ Pinthouse Pizza is one of my favorites. And it’s a brewery! You can’t go wrong with pizza and beer.

Do you have a favorite charity you wish more people knew about?
⤜ The Center for Reproductive Rights –

What’s your hidden talent?
⤜ I’m an avid gardener (plant hoarder) and love to learn how to use plants to make teas, balms, and incense.

What’s your favorite thing about being a photographer?
⤜ I honestly love all the driving and traveling I get to do. Even if sometimes it’s just around Austin. I get to see something new every day and be outside. And, I know how to get around the entire city by heart!

Have you ever met anybody famous?
⤜ I met a Dallas Mavericks basketball player at a TGI Friday’s. It was brief, he was very tall, and it was mostly exciting for my dad!

What is your go-to Potluck dish?
⤜ Ham and swiss mini quiches!

How many states // countries have you visited (or lived in!)?
⤜ I’ve only ever lived in Texas, but visited about half of the United States. Mostly the south and east coast, and nowhere in the midwest.

What’s something that has surprised you about being a real estate photographer?
⤜ It’s amazing to see how vastly different everyone’s life is. I’ve been to so many houses, talked to so many people, heard so many stories by folks of every age. It reminds me to be compassionate to everyone I meet, because you truly don’t know what’s going on in someone else’s life.

What is one of the top items on your Bucket List?
⤜ Most of my bucket list involves traveling around the world. I very much want to take a pilgrimage to the mountains of New Zealand where Lord of the Rings was filmed.

What’s something—big or small—that you’re really bad at?
⤜ All the things that I’m “bad” at actually have everything to do with my lack of patience.

What’s one hobby you’d love to get into?
⤜ Literally all of the crafting hobbies. I get excited about a different craft every week.

What’s your most used emoji?
⤜ 😂
